Bibi (ビビ, Bibi) was a young resident of Wonderland.

Background[]

Hatter repimands children

The Hatter reprimands the children

Bibi was a young child and a friend of Rogy and Coco. Later, he apparently befriended the Duchess along with his two friends. At one point during the 88th game, he and his friends planned to find out the current Alice's personality by making fun of her, similar to what they had been doing to the others ever since. Though successful in their ploy, they were caught by the Hatter and reprimanded them, urging them to stop insulting Alice. Because of this protection, Bibi sadly remarked on how it must feel nice being Alice. They were later seen by the Duchess, who also reprimanded them and asked them to understand Alice, despite her being the reason why she could not play with them.[2]

He presumably stayed at an abandoned house together with his two friends; at this point, they had violated a taboo in Wonderland.[3]

Appearance[]

Bibi had brown hair shaped into a bob cut with some bangs covering his forehead, large brown eyes, and freckles on both of his cheeks. He wore a dark shirt under a cardigan with vertical stripes, rolled pants with at least two rectangular patches, and a pair of moccasins.[4][3]

Personality[]

Bibi was a fragile child, who, though understandable, usually wept during times of distress. He was also perceptive, seeing through Rogy's infatuation with the Duchess only through noticing his friend's habits of attempting to be close with the Duchess.

Like his friends, he was caring and cooperative, even taking part in their ploys toward Alice candidates despite him being most likely against these plans. Furthermore, he deeply loved his friends, even to the point of sacrificing his life in the process, as evidenced when he seemingly shielded Rogy from being executed by the Queen.[2]

Plot[]

The Three Children[]

Alice saves Bibi

Alice saves Bibi from the Queen

After the Duchess's death, Rogy tells Bibi and Coco to get as far away as possible, lest they will also be found and get executed similar to the Duchess; Bibi becomes saddened and weeps at their situation.[4] As Rogy had expected, the Queen and Alice eventually arrive, with the Queen attacking Bibi first. Alice quickly saves the child and demands the Queen to explain his rash actions. The Queen informs Alice that the children had broken a rule and therefore needs to be punished by himself. He also tells him that bringing Alice with him is a way to prove his loyalty to the monarch if he truly wants his reward. Just then, Rogy bites Alice and asks Bibi to leave together with Coco, but to no avail.[3]

Bibi death

Bibi's death.

Rogy states his hate for Alice that caused the death of the Duchess, much to the surprise of Alice. In hopes of turning the tide, Rogy blackmails the Queen, whom he knows is not the true Queen of Wonderland. Provoked, the Queen plans to strike the child, but Alice saves him and rejects the Queen's offer of a reward. In the end, however, the Queen manages to snap Alice out of his misery and carries out his duty of executing the children. Bibi apparently shields Rogy from being killed, being the first child to die in the execution.[2]

Trivia[]

3 children game

Bibi (center) along with Coco and Rogy in the PSP game

  • In the PSP game, Bibi appears with Rogy and Coco, but he had a slightly different appearance from the manga. He wore a dark brown-coloured collared shirt with a loosely-tied white ribbon. Over this, he wore a brown jacket with dark brown sleeves which he kept open. He also seems to have no freckles on his cheeks.
  • According to Ai Ninomiya, Bibi's name stems from the Baby from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865). Leaving the two B's in the word (baby), she arrived at the name "Bibi". Like his two friends' own namesakes, they were all associated with the Duchess.[5]
